During sailing I’ve been working in Catering, helping to provide food for the residents of the Logos Hope.

One day I’ve been working in the dish room, cleaning the dishes after Lunch and Dinner. Here I must make sure that all the food stuck to the plates is unstuck, so that the plates can be washed effectively by the dishwasher.

There is also Pot-wash, where all of the big dishes used in serving and cooking food are washed. This is many people’s favourite position in the galley.

The final main position is Cook. Here I help prepare the food for ships company as well as stand in the food line, making sure that the rules are followed.

As you can see, I had a blast squeezing lemons.

Working in the galley has been a welcome change of pace, and has been fun to try something different!
