Yesterday was my final day of my Challenge Team, and with such an important period of my life coming to an end, I will use this post as a time of reflection.

Overall the Challenge Team was a net positive, as despite the woeful organisation issues, God really used us to encourage and empower the people of Uruguay.

We travelled all over Uruguay, from Montevideo, to Paso de los Toros, to Cuidad de la Costa. Truly our ministry will have an impact in so many parts of the country.

We visited Churches big and Churches small, from the charismatic to the reserved. In every case we tried our best to teach them what we know, and to learn new perspectives from a different point of view.

Often I would wonder ‘What am I doing here’ when things looked particularly bleak, but in every case, God would send an answer either through an encouraging word, a delivered prayer or simply witnessing God’s people in action.

So despite the very tangible low points, it was little moments like that which made this Challenge Team worth living.

But now we must look to the future; as the ship will recover from Dry Dock and as a new batch of STEPers are being welcomed aboard, the story is far from over, and the next epoch is just around the corner.
