Rivers are gentle, right?

I was pricing some books in the book hold, moving at a merry pace, and enjoying the relative smoothness of the sail, when there was a loud CRASH and the Ship lurched forwards. As gravity brought us back, and the ship settled again I wondered WHAT ON EARTH WAS THAT??? I THOUGHT THAT RIVERS WERE GENTLE!!!

As it turned out, the Logos had bumped another ship as it was manoeuvring down the river!

Thankfully no-one was injured in the incident, but minor damage was sustained. Two windows had shattered and other damage had to be repaired before we could set sail again.

The ship dropped anchor after the incident and we stayed in the same place for 2 days. A sail that was due to last for 20 hours in fact took four days. We had major restrictions on water and other commodities, leading to our cutlery, plates and mugs all being disposable plastic.

I was scheduled to lead a C-Day, but due to the delay, it was changed into a prayer day.

But the ship stayed strong, and really came together as a unit. Despite the situation, we were able to stay positive and rest in the knowledge that God was in control.

Indeed, on Friday evening, the Logos Hope docked in Buenos Aires. Our arrival brought to a close the most eventful sail that I had experienced, and to be honest, I was glad for the hard concrete of the port.

And here I was thinking that my final sail would be a simple affair.
