Yesterday the Logos entered the Chilean port of Liquern and the ship’s company welcomed the latest PST (Pre-Ship Training) onboard; PST Valparaíso! This was an exciting time for everyone onboard as these were the people who will be living with them for the next year or two.

But first I need to explain what a PST actually is. A PST is the collective term for a large group of people joining the ship for long term service. (I am part of a STEP group not a PST because I am only staying for 3 months only). The PST is named after the port they trained in. The latest PST was trained in Valparaiso, hence the name PST Valparaiso. PST Valparaiso is considered small, but even still over 30 people are joining the crew.

We started by making a flag tunnel for the new arrivals to walk through. This was extremely exciting and really built up the anticipation.

I was holding the Swiss flag, but I still got a picture in front of the Union Flag.

When the PST entered the tunnel the whole crew went crazy and acted as if their favourite team had just scored a goal!

Here is a picture of Tae, my South Korean friend tailgating at the end:

After tea, the crew hosted the PST party! It was an exciting celebration including performances:

Wild dancing and Crazy hosts!

After the party, myself and a few others retired to the International Cafe to play some board games and enjoy some quality Jazz music.

The entire ship is super excited for the near future and this excitement is contagious!
