I am working as part of the Bookfair on the ship. The team is split into two groups; the Joynuts and the Hopestars. I am a member of the Joynuts along with Jonathan.

Bookfair is pretty much the face of the Logos Hope, dealing with the majority of the public interaction.

There are a lot of separate parts of the Bookfair department, but today I will be talking about the areas focusing on monetary transactions; Cash Desks and Bargain Store.
The cash desks (as the name suggests) is where the guests pay for their books. Extensive knowledge of Spanish isn’t necessarily required, but I must be competent with Spanish numbers. Indeed in the past few days, my Spanish numbers has drastically improved.

The Head-cashier oversees the cash desks and if there is something I don’t understand, I can always call the head cashier for assistance.
Generally it is quite fun on the cash desks, as it gives me ample opportunity to improve my Spanish as well as understand the local currency.

The bargain store is where any stock that doesn’t sell well or the ship doesn’t need is sold. The special offer is 1 item for 1,500 pesos, or 4 items for 3,000 pesos, plus a special bag.
Often it isn’t too busy, but even still it is a good place to develop my Spanish skills.

60,104 people visited the ship during its time in Antofagasta
I really enjoy working at Bookfair, but tomorrow the ship is leaving Antofagasta, so I will explain more once the Logos Hope has arrived in Valparaiso.
