A Beautiful Cemetery

Yesterday was my off-day and after spending the morning sleeping, myself and some others decided to visit the Punta Arenas cemetery.

There was ample opportunity for photos, of which we took many…

Many of the tombs were beautifully crafted, including memorial to an old sea captain.
The place had a very somber atmosphere, so we only acted like tourists at the entrance. As we wandered the many graves, we were much more reserved.

The trees were very aesthetically pleasing; obviously a lot of craftsmanship had been put into them.
I also took the opportunity to sketch a wonderfully crafted tomb of a Slavic family, migrating to Chile hundreds of years ago…
After this we had dinner at a Greek place, with some cheap food and big portions.

In the evening I returned in the ship to partake in STEPper worship; a time to worship organised by the Steppers themselves. It was a wholesome end to the day.
