Today I will be talking about where the Logos Hope will be sailing while I am aboard.
‘Where am I going?’
I will join the ship on January 17th in the port of Antofagasta, situated in Northern Chile. Northern Chile is very warm and January will be at the height of the Southern Hemisphere’s Summer, indeed I will be enjoying some warm weather during the winter months.
On January 25th I will depart Antofagasta and set sail southwards for Valparaiso, a port near the Chilean capital, Santiago. Valparaiso is known for its colourful cliff top homes, quite a sight to be sure. Here I will remain until February 11.
The Logos Hope will continue sailing south towards the port of Lirquen, very close to the Chilean city of Concepción. Concepción has a very impressive skyline. Here I will stay until February 28th.
Following this, the ship will continue south, and enter the Straight of Magellan, stopping off at the beautiful port city of Punta Arenas on March 6th. Punta Arenas is extremely southern and is often used as a base of operations for excursions into Antarctica.
On March 15th, the Logos Hope will leave Punta Arenas and finally sail north, up the Argentinian coast, towards Bahia Blanca. Bahia Blanca is known for its white salts that consist of its shoreline. I will stay in Bahia Blanca until April 1st.
After this, the ship will either sail for Buenos Aires or go straight to Montevideo, Uruguay, the locations are yet to be confirmed. Indeed, I will leave the Logos Hope on April 21st at Montevideo, marking the end of my time in South America.
Tomorrow, I will discuss the various activities which I will be doing aboard the Logos Hope.
